Curtain Raiser with Dana Gillespie

Kingfisher Presents The Explocity Festival of Jazz & Blues will start off with a pre-festival curtain raiser where the multi award winning blues singer, Dana Gillespie will perform on the 6th of December.

Dana was the British Junior Water Skiing Champion for four years until an injury forced her retirement. She recorded initially in the folk genre in the mid-1960s. Dana recorded an album in 1973. Her subsequent efforts have been in the blues genre, appearing with her “London Blues Band”.

Witness an assemblage of jazz talent renowned the world over. Celebrate the convergence of India’s small, yet thriving jazz culture, with international acts across two mellifluous nights in Bangalore.

The two-day long Kingfisher Presents The Explocity Festival of Jazz & Blues will be headlined by India’s best known jazz musician Louiz Banks and his quartet, featuring Radha Thomas.

Other stellar performers of the festival will be leading jazz talent including guitarists Gerard Machado and his Network, featuring Dr Suma Sudhindra on Veena, Amit Heri with Ranjit Barot, Maarten Visser and Karl Peters and Metafour featuring guitarist Jagadeesh, Madhuri (vocals), Bright, Karthik and Victor.
